Exploration of medicated diet and dietary therapy for bi-impediment pattern in Principles of Correct Diet(Yin Shan Zheng Yao)

Abstract
Bi-impediment pattern refers to a condition caused by pathogenic wind,cold,and dampness invading the body,leading to limb pain and numbness.In modern medicine,various diseases characterized by joint pain are encompassed under bi-impediment pattern,which can significantly affect patients and markedly impact their quality of life.The Principles of Correct Diet(Yin Shan Zheng Yao),a classic compendium of medicated diet and dietary therapy from the Yuan Dynasty,presents unique insights into the treatment of bi-impediment pattern.The work draws extensively from diverse strengths,integrating the essence of multiple ethnic cultures,skillfully employing animal-derived ingredients rich in vitality,and supplementing them with pungent substances to alleviate pain associated with bi-impediment pattern.The medicated diet prescriptions exhibit a rich variety of forms,encompassing both the traditions of the central region of China and the innovations originating from other regions of China beyond the central region of China,and also including imperial delicacies.This diversity not only provides abundant formula options and ingredient choices for dietary therapy in the management of bi-impediment pattern,but also demonstrates the multiplicity and inclusiveness of the Yuan Dynasty culinary culture.It further embodies the Chinese medicine principle of"food and medicine homology"and offers valuable reference for subsequent clini-cal pharmacotherapy and dietary approaches in the treatment of bi-impediment pattern.关键词
