Optimization of extraction process for total flavonoids and phenolic acids from Yinxiangye(Cinnamomum burmannii leaves)based on Box-Behnken response surface methodology

Abstract
Objective To optimize the process parameters for microwave-assisted extraction of total flavonoids and total phenolic acids from Yinxiangye(Cinnamomum burmannii leaves),using the response surface methodology.Methods Single-factor experiments were carried out to examine the effects of ethanol concentration,microwave irradiation time,and solid-to-liquid ratio on extraction efficiency.A mathematical model was established based on the Box-Behnken design,using the yields of total flavonoids and total phenolic acids as the response variables,to identify the optimal conditions.Results The optimal extraction parameters were as follows:ethanol concentration of 78.16%,microwave irradiation time of 67.28 min,and solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:40(g/mL).Under these conditions,the extraction yields of total flavonoids and total phenolic acids reached 1.45%and 1.12%,respectively.Conclusion The extraction process parameters optimized via the response surface methodology are stable and reproducible,providing a scientific basis for the further development and utilization of the active constituents of Yinxiangye(Cinnamomum burmannii leaves).关键词
