Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of different knee arthroplasty procedures in elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis and their impact on knee joint function. Methods A total of 120 elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis treated at Shangqiu First People's Hospital from January 2018 to July 2023 were selected and, according to a random-number table, divided into a control group(n=60)and a study group(n=60).The control group underwent total knee arthroplasty(TKA),and the study group underwent unicompartmental knee arthroplasty(UKA).Improvements in knee function and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results At 2 weeks after surgery,Lysholm scores in both groups increased compared with those on the day after admission, and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores decreased compared with those on the day after admission. The Lysholm score in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and the VAS score was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).On postoperative day 1,the levels of IL-1,IL-6,and ESR in both groups were lower than those on the day after admission, and the study group showed lower levels than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 2 weeks after surgery, scores for each dimension of the General Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOL-74)in both groups increased compared with those on the day after admission, and the study group scored higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The treatment effective rate in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Both TKA and UKA have significant efficacy in treating elderly knee osteoarthritis, but UKA yields better functional recovery and has higher safety.关键词
