湖南省怀化市山羊价值链分析
Analysis on the Goat Value Chain in Huaihua City of Hunan Province

Abstract
In order to clarify all hygiene conditions and risks of disease control along the chain of goat industry in Huaihua City,Hunan Province,365 farms/households,30 brokers for live goats and 68 slaughter facilities were investigated through on-site visit and questionnaires.The results showed that,for production,smallholders(75.89%with inventory<100 goats)were dominant,specifically,99.02%adopted pasture-based system,78.36%were lack of protective measures during production activities,87.60%failed to quarantine their live goats that were purchased from other regions,80.00%purchased goats from local city,and 85.15%sold live goats for local consumption.For brokers,80.00%were concurrently engaged in goat production,slaughtering,or other related activities;76.67%directly purchased goats on-site,and 53.33%entered pens to select goats.For slaughter,73.53%slaughterhouses were self-supportive and non-intensive,where several species were mixed and slaughtered.For inter-regional movement,inter-province movement was dominate,accounting for 76.33%.Risk behaviors were available in all links,including mixing different batches of goats during production,allowing visitors to enter into pens,temporary mixing of different batches of goats by brokers,absence of entry registration in slaughtering sites and absence of rendering facilities,etc.In conclusion,local movement of goats was dominate in the city,but biosafety level along the entire chain was low,with prominent risk behaviors.It was thereby recommended to improve the capacity of disease control along the overall chain by improving registration system for brokers and transport vehicles,standardizing movement and trading practices,and strengthening practitioners' primary responsibilities in disease control.关键词
