Abstract

Huludao molybdenum mine has been one of the important molybdenum mining places in China.Due to the limitation of min-eral processing technology and chemicals in the early years,a considerable number of old tailings containing high grade of Mo have been accumulated in the past large-scale development and utilization process.In this paper,the old tailings containing 0.15%Mo were studied.Through the particle size sieve analysis,it was found that the particle size of molybdenum minerals in the tailings was very fine,and the 78.61%of the Mo metal existed below 0.020 mm.Microscope observation found lots of molybdenum minerals were accu-mulated in about 0.005 mm,which is difficult for flotation.It is found that the addition of sodium carbonate can effectively disperse the fine mud pulp,and the use of the new molybdenum collector BK341H which was invented by BGRIMM can effectively collect the mi-cro-fine molybdenum minerals.The final closed-circuit test can obtain Mo concentration containing Mo grade of 31.83%and Mo recov-ery of 69.93%.
