Four Key Areas for Research on Strengthening the Political and Organizational Functions of Party Organizations

Abstract
Grassroots Party organizations form the bedrock of the Communist Party of China's gov-ernance.Efforts must be made to enhance their political and organizational functions.These two functions possess distinct connotations.The political function refers to the positive efficacy exer-cised by grassroots Party organizations,centred on consolidating the Party's governing foundation.The organizational function pertains to their capacity to organize,focusing on mobilizing Party members and the masses.These functions maintain three interrelated dynamics,namely,intrinsic unity,mutual dependence as ends and means,and reciprocal transformation.Political function pre-supposes organizational capacity,and without it,political function becomes a stream without a source.Organizational function finds its ultimate purpose in political function,and without political function,organizational function loses its meaning.Organizational function must be transformed into political function.A robust political function facilitates the exercise of organizational function.Political function draws its strength from organizational function.Party functions in Party politics represent the embodiment of political and organizational functions,constituting the concrete func-tions of Party organizations.The political and organizational functions of grassroots Party organiza-tions are the defining concepts in the studies of the history and development of the Communist Par-ty of China,forming crucial elements of its autonomous knowledge system.关键词
