Investigation on Influencing Factors of Satisfaction and Training Needs for Continuing Education and Training of Licensed Pharmacists in Guangdong Province

Abstract
Objective To provide reference for improving the quality of continuing education and training for licensed pharmacists in China.Methods Licensed pharmacists in Guangdong Province who needed to participate in continuing education and training in 2023 were selected by random sampling method.Based on literature research and practical work,on-site questionnaires and online questionnaires were combined to investigate the basic information,satisfaction with continuing education and training,and training needs of licensed pharmacists.Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted on the influencing factors of licensed pharmacists'satisfaction with continuing education and training.Results A total of 2 021 questionnaires were distributed,and 1 834 valid questionnaires were recovered,with an effective recovery rate of 90.75%.Among the respondents,the following categories were more common:the age was>31-40 years old(45.20%),the educational background was junior college(48.31%),the major was traditional Chinese medicine(38.82%),the working year was>10-15 years(32.17%),the number of years of obtaining licensed pharmacists was 5-10 years(49.51%),the practice location was the Pearl River Delta region(72.03%),and the type of unit was pharmaceutical retail enterprise pharmacy(83.48%).The satisfaction scores of attention degree,online platform,faculty level,and teaching institutions were relatively high(all average scores were higher than 4.30 points),while the satisfaction scores of online courseware and offline venues were relatively low(all average scores were lower than 4.10 points).The overall satisfaction score was(4.26±0.70)points,and the evaluation result was relatively satisfied.Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in satisfaction scores among licensed pharmacists with different educational backgrounds,working years,practicing locations,and unit types(P<0.05).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that working years≥5 years,practice location in northern Guangdong,and non-pharmaceutical retail enterprises had significant effects on the satisfaction of continuing education and training of licensed pharmacists(P<0.05).Among the training needs,the score of ″diagnosis and treatment guidelines for common diseases″ was the highest[(4.56±0.72)points],and the score of″pharmacy-related academic content″ was the lowest[(3.95±1.12)points].Conclusion The overall satisfaction of licensed pharmacists in Guangdong Province with continuing education and training is good.Among them,working years,practicing location,and unit type are the influencing factors of training satisfaction.Measures such as setting up feedback channels for online courses,strengthening the promotion of advantages of face-to-face teaching,refining training content,and establishing graded training can be taken to improve the satisfaction of licensed pharmacists with continuing education and training.In addition,meeting their training needs by increasing practical content can enhance their enthusiasm for participating in continuing education and training.关键词
