Abstract

In order to explore the denitrification efficiency and mechanism when anaerobic acidified liquid of fruit and vege-table waste is added as an external carbon source during domestic sewage treatment,In this study,acidified liquid and compound carbon source(a mixture of acidified liquid and sodium acetate)were used as external carbon sources,and the effects of carbon source addition on the efficiency,stability and microbial community characteristics during actual domestic sewage treatment were evaluated.The results showed that the removal efficiencies of total nitrogen(TN)were 98.27%and 97.18%,and the removal efficiencies of COD were 90.62%and 83.01%,respectively.The concentrations of TN,NH4+-N and COD in the effluent all met the national first-class A standard of "Pollutant Discharge Standard for Urban Sewage Treat-ment Plants"(GB18918-2002)when the both carbon sources were added.Microbial community analysis showed that the acidified liquid and the compound carbon source enriched similar microbial community composition(Dechloromonas、Rhodobacter、unclassified_f_Comamonadaceae etc.),but abundance of the core denitrifying microorganisms was quite dif-ferent.In summary,the anaerobic acidified liquid of fruit and vegetable waste has the potential to replace the traditional carbon source in the domestic sewage treatment process to achieve efficient denitrification.
