Advances in Breeding Strategies for Broad-Spectrum and Durable Resistance to Rice Blast

Abstract
Rice blast is one of the most destructive diseases in rice production.Despite significant progress in the control of this disease,major challenges remain,including the susceptibility of resistance genes to overcome and the difficulty of balancing disease resistance with yield,comprehensive agronomic traits,etc.With the rapid development of modern biotechnology and major breakthroughs in biological research,developing new breeding strategies for broad-spectrum and durable resistance to rice blast has become an effective approach to address these challenges.This review summarizes the multilayered defense mechanisms of the plant immune system,including physical and chemical defenses,pattern-triggered immunity(PTI),and effector-triggered immunity(ETI).In addition,it provides an overview of the current research state regarding rice blast resistance genes,with a focus on strategies such as the pyramiding of multiple resistance genes,immune receptor engineering,regulation of immune-positive regulator expression,editing of susceptibility genes and immune-negative regulatory factors,and the cross-species application of resistance genes.This review aims to provide theoretical foundations and references for future research and practical applications of breeding strategies for broad-spectrum resistance to rice blast.关键词
