Abstract

[Objective]To explore the effect of soaking time on the germination of Cyperus esculentus seeds and determine the most suitable soaking time.[Method]Four gradient soaking times of 0(CK),24,48,and 72 h were set,the emergence rate and relative traits of Cyperus esculentus seeds were measured by pot cultivation in a light culture room.[Result]One-way analysis of variance showed that the germination and radicle traits of Cyperus esculentus seeds were significantly affected by the soaking time(P<0.05).After soaking for 24,48,and 72 h,the germination of seeds was significantly higher than that of the control group.Among them,the germination and radicle traits of Cyperus esculen-tus seeds reached the highest value after soaking for 48 h.When the soaking time was greater than 48 h,all germination indicators showed a downward trend,which had an inhibitory effect on the growth of Cyperuse esculentus.The seeds of Cyperus esculentus soaked for 48 h had the highest emergence rate.[Conclusion]The most suitable soaking time for Cyperus esculentus seeds is 48 h.The study can provide important the-oretical basis and technical support for shortening the period of seedling cultivation and improving the seedlings quality of Cyperuse esculentus.
