Abstract

The rice-crayfish-snail co-culture model is a new type of aquaculture model that efficiently uses paddy time and space to carry out ecological and healthy breeding of rice,crayfish and snails.It can achieve the"multiple use of water"and"multiple harvests on a single piece of land",and improve the production capacity and economic benefits of integrated aquaculture in paddy fields.The environmental engineering construction of paddy fields,cultivation and management of rice,placement and management of crayfish and snails of rice-crayfish-snail co-culture model without ring ditch in Lu'an City,Anhui Province were described.Fishing and yield statistics for crayfish and snails were conduc-ted in May and October 2023,respectively.The economic benefits of rice-crayfish-snail co-culture model were compared with conventional planting rice,"rice+crayfish"co-culture and"rice+snail"co-culture modes.Results showed that the yield of crayfish,snails,rice were 1 095.0 kg/hm2,2 821.5 kg/hm2,9 570.0 kg/hm2.Output value and profit were 105 984.0 and 79 629.0 yuan/hm2,respectively.It's economic benefits are the highest.Rice-crayfish-snail co-culture model can significantly increase the economic income of rice farmers.
