Abstract
Objective Understand the local malaria epidemiological characteristics,diagnosis and treatment behaviors,and prevention and control shortcomings;effectively improve the local malaria prevention and control level.Methods This study was based on the ques-tionnaire survey data of 40 malaria patients conducted by the Chinese medical team in Niefang City,mainland Equatorial Guinea from July to September 2024,and SPSS 26.0 was used for descriptive statistics and chi-square test(α=0.05)for analysis.Results Demo-graphic characteristics:Young adults(18-40 years,42.5%)and rural residents(42.5%)were the high-risk groups,with 60%of house-holds having at least one child under 5 years old;Delayed treatment:62.5%of patients sought medical care only 2-3 days after symptom onset,and 35%initially consulted traditional healers;Prevention gaps:77.5%of households lacked effective mosquito control measures,and 90%of mosquito nets were repurposed for other uses;Service needs:The most urgent demands among patients were free medication(67.5%)and free testing(72.5%).Conclusion The majority of patients seeking treatment were young adults living in rainforest tribes,with a nearly equal male-to-female ratio.Most lacked mosquito prevention measures and awareness,typically delayed seeking medical care for 2-3 days after symptom onset,and initially relied on traditional healers or rest at home.Patients expressed a strong desire for easy access to free medication and free rapid testing.关键词
