Abstract
In order to improve the safety of continuous processing of energetic materials and establish a high-precision simula-tion system,based on the typical modified double-base propellant,the formulation of the substitute(cellulose acetate butyrate∶eth-ylene-vinyl acetate copolymer∶calcium carbonate∶diethyl phthalate∶carbon black powder∶water=180∶65∶210∶40∶5∶27)was optimized by rheological property matching.Multi-scale simulation of the meshing parallel co-rotating twin-screw extrusion process was carried out by means of Polyflow and Ludovic simulation software,and key parameters were verified by experiments.The results show that the synergistic effect of process parameters and equipment structure significantly influences on processing safe-ty.The increase of screw speed(from 5 r/min to 15 r/min)and aspect ratio can lead to the increase of safety risk.Specifically,the extruder head pressure and temperature increase significantly with the increase of screw speed and aspect ratio,up to 2.77 MPa and 105.23℃,respectively.The temperature in the metering section of the extruder peaks at the small lead thread due to shear heat.The predicted maximum errors for pressure and temperature are 10.08%and 8.43%with Polyflow,and 11.01%and 4.14%with Ludovic respectively.Polyflow accurately depicts the three-dimensional flow field details,while Ludovic efficiently optimizes screw configuration with quick computational capability(single time<1 min).The two software tools complement each other,meeting the full-chain requirements from micro-shear analysis to macro-process design.The dual-software collaborative strategy can define the safe processing window(temperature≤90℃,screw speed≤15 r/min)and provide a high-precision and high-efficiency solution for the continuous production of solid propellants.关键词
