Gold-silicon Nanorod Plasmonics for Dynamic Drug Release Monitoring

Abstract
It was successfully constructed that gold-silicon nanorod plasmonic excitations[DOX-AuNRs@SiO2/Zn(OH)2]encapsulating the chemotherapeutic drug adriamycin(DOX).The nano-delivery system was able to remain stable under neutral physiological conditions,and when entering the weakly acidic environment of tumor cells,the Zn(OH)2 layer was rapidly dissolved,triggering rapid drug release.Real-time monitoring of individual nanocarriers by dark-field microscopy revealed that there was a linear relationship between the amount of DOX release and the degree of blue-shift of plasma exciton resonance scattered light during drug release.In addition,this plasma exciton nanocarrier system enables real-time visualization and tracking of the drug release kinetics in individual tumor cells,providing a new strategy for quantitative analysis of drug delivery systems and evaluation of drug efficacy.关键词
