Abstract
Anode-free lithium metal batteries offer advantages over traditional lithium metal batteries,such as higher energy density and lower cost.This study aims to explore the effect of resting conditions on the activation of dead lithium in anode-free lithium metal batteries.By adjusting the resting time and temperature of the Li||Cu half-cell,the relationship between resting time,temperature,and dead lithium activation was systematically investigated.The best dead lithium activation was achieved by resting the battery at 45℃for 2.5 hours,while the worst activation occurred when the battery was rested at 5℃for 0.5 hours.Additionally,resting the battery at 55℃for 6.5 hours led to a significant reduction in activation.These results indicate that enhanced dead lithium reactivation requires moderate resting conditions.By analyzing the changes in coulombic efficiency(CE)under different resting conditions,the study reveals the relationship between dead lithium activation and the dissolution of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)film,and proposes strategies for optimizing resting conditions to improve dead lithium activation.The findings provide new insights for further enhancing the performance of anode-free lithium metal batteries.关键词
