摘要

Abstract

In view of the challenges associated with conventional manufacturing process(such as casting,welding,and hot extrusion)of large-diameter high.strength tee fittings for oil and gas pipelines,including difficulties in internal quality control,high energy consumption,high cost,and inconsistent mechanical properties—the wire arc additive manufacturing method was fabricated using an X80 grade large-diameter tee fitting.The microstructure,mechanical properties,and influence of specimen geometry were systematically investigated through metallographic analysis,tensile tests,and impact tests at various temperatures.The results show that the microstructures of the arc additive manufacturing tee fitting consist mainlyof acicular ferrite and granular bainite,and the tensile strength is slightly higher than that of conventionally hot-extruded tees.At the same time,the yield ratio is lower,suggesting enhanced safety performance.Round bar tensile specimens can better reflect the real tensile properties of the material than flat specimens,as they are less affected by the Bauschinger effect and work hardening.Impact toughness along the building direction is slightly superior to that along the printing direction,with the difference becoming more pronounced at lower temperatures.Due to stress concentration and melt pool behaviorvariations,the shoulder region exhibits lower impact toughness and a higher ductile-to-brittle transition temperature than the main pipe and branch sections.It provides technical support for the efficient and high-performance manufacturing of large-diameter high-strength pipeline tees and the application of wire arc additive manufacturing in producing fittings for demanding service environments.
