Abstract
To investigate the influence of ultrasonic vibration on the weld in multi-wire submerged arc welding,ultrasonic vibrations were introduced during the welding process of X60 grade pipeline steel with a wall thickness of 14.3 mm.The microstructural morphology and low-temperature impact toughness of the weld were compared with and without the application of ultrasonic vibration.The results indicate that applying ultrasonic vibration during the welding process can promote the formation of acicular ferrite(AF)in the weld,increase the number of AF,and refine the grain size of the weld.Comparing the low-temperature impact toughness of vibration welding and non vibration welds,the average impact toughness of non vibration welds at-30℃and-40℃were 111 J and 88 J,respectively.The average impact toughness of welds without ultrasonic vibration at-30℃and-40℃were 141 J and 117 J,respectively,which were 30 J and 29 J higher than those without ultrasonic vibration.Therefore,it can be seen that vibration welding can significantly improve the low-temperature impact toughness of the weld.Comparing the tensile strength of welded joints with and without ultrasonic vibration,it was found that ultrasonic vibration welding had little effect on the tensile strength of welded joints.关键词
