摘要

Abstract

Dissolved organic nitrogen(DON)is a significant component of organic nitrogen and dissolved organic matter(DOM)in rivers and lakes,playing a crucial role in the nitrogen cycle and the prevention and control mechanisms of eutrophication in river and lake ecosystems.In recent years,as climate change and human activities have increasingly disrupted lakes,the nitrogen pollution load in river-lake systems has been on the rise.Consequently,the study of DON in aquatic ecosystems has gradually gained attention from researchers.Based on a comprehensive review of the biogeochemical cycles of DON in river and lake ecosystems both domestically and internationally,this study primarily examined the research progress and outstanding challenges from the perspectives of research methods,process mechanisms,and environmental effects.Meanwhile,prospects for future research on DON in river and lake systems were also presented,aiming to provide new information and theoretical support for a deeper understanding of the evolution of river and lake aquatic environments and to shed light on eutrophication.
