Abstract

Located at the tectonic junction between the southern margin of the North China Plate and the northern margin of the Yangtze Plate,Henan province exhibits complex geo-logical structures and significant potential for geothermal resource exploration and develop-ment.This study collected 90 terrestrial heat flow data points across Henan province and an-alyzed their spatial distribution characteristics using a spatial zoning statistical method.The results indicate that,based on geological structures and heat flow characteristics,the Luan-chuan-Queshan-Gushi deep-seated fault zone can be used as a regional boundary to divide the province into two major areas:northern Henan and southern Henan.The measured sur-face heat flow values in Henan province range from 26.40 to 135.00 mW/m2,with an aver-age of 56.11 mW/m2.The average heat flow in northern Henan is 56.14 mW/m2,slightly higher than that of southern Henan(56.05 mW/m2).In conclusion,surface heat flow in Henan province is closely related to its tectonic structures,with large-scale tectonic activity being the primary factor controlling variations in heat flow values.
