Abstract

In order to explore the effects of planting density and exogenous hormones on early growth and plant architecture of Cinnamomum camphora family seedlings,this study used two-year-old seedlings from different families as experimental material.The effects of va-rious planting densities and the application of different types and concentrations of exogenous hormones on the growth and plant architecture of C.camphora trees seedlings were ana-lyzed.The results showed that the growth and architecture of C.camphora seedlings signif-icantly varied among families with different architectures.Among them,the'Fen 1'family exhibited superior individual growth performance,while the'Zhi 2'family demonstrated op-timal plant architechture.A planting density of 5 cm×5 cm promoted increased branch height and trunk straightness of C.camphora seedlings to some extent but limited overall growth,whereas a density of 20 cm×25 cm provided a more balanced performance in both growth and plant architecture of C.camphora seedlings.The application of exogenous hormones had nota-ble effects on seedling plant architecture,with the combination of NAA+6-BA particularly pro-moting desirable architectural traits.These findings provide technical support for the early control of plant architecture in timber-oriented C.camphora seedlings,and also lay a foun-dation for further studies on the regulatory mechanisms of C.camphora.
