Study on the Bearing Capacity of an Innovative Self-Locking Co-working Modular Beam

Abstract
In view of the inability of cooperative work between modular beams in the current modular steel building,a self-locking lateral connection between beams is proposed without destroying the envelope structure.The static load performance of the co-working modular beam is studied by numerical simulation method,and the force transmission mechanism and failure mode of the beam are explored as well.The influence of four key parameters,including the number of connections,the number of locks,the ratio of beam section height to span,and the connection position,is analyzed.The results show that the self-locking co-working modular beam has a relatively good bearing capacity,including high ultimate bearing capacity and strong deformation capacity.The main failure mode is that the modular beam and the upper and lower connectors are close to the strength limit,thus losing the bearing capacity.Compared with the existing modular beams,the ultimate bearing capacity of the self-locking modular beams is greatly improved,and the collaborative working effect between the beams is obvious.The ultimate bearing capacity of the member increases with the increase of the number of lateral connections between beams,but the increasing range is related to the loading method and the specific number of connections.Under end moment load,when the ratio of section height to span of modular beam is small,the connection between self-locking beam plays a more significant role in enhancing the bearing capacity of the member,but under vertical uniform load,the ratio has a smaller effect.When the lateral connection between the beams is located in the left and right 2/7 beam span,the collaborative effect between modular beams is the most significant.关键词
