Quasi Static Finite Element Analysis of Concrete-Filled Square Steel Tubular Column-Steel Beam Composite Frame Structure with Bolt Connections

Abstract
ABAQUS software was used to build a refined 3D solid finite element(FE)model and perform quasi static analysis of a 1-story,1-span bolt connected square concrete-filled steel tubular(CFT)column-steel beam frame structure.Solid modeling was used for small components such as screws and nuts.The model fully considers the confinement effect of the steel tube on the core concrete,the preload effect of screw and nut,and the frictional contact effect between bolts and T-shaped plate,steel tube and steel beam.The numerical results including failure mode,load-displacement hysteretic curve,stiffness degradation-displacement curve show good agreement with the existing quasi static experimental results.Based on this,further analysis was conducted on macro indicators such as slip of the bolt,axial compression ratio of column,lateral deformation index of steel tube and micro indicators such as stress-strain of core concrete,structural damage,plastic energy dissipation distribution mechanism.The results show that the slip of the bolt and the axial compression of the column are both very small.The lateral deformation index of the control points at the bottom of the steel tube exceeds 0.5,and the maximum compressive stress of the core concrete exceeds the uniaxial compressive strength.At this time,the steel tube exerts a confinement effect on the core concrete.The concrete at the bottom of the column is more prone to cracking and crushing than that at the beam column joints.This composite frame structure is dominated by beam energy dissipation and supplemented by column energy consumption,which is a typical"strong column weak beam"structural system.The bolt solid modeling method has the advantages of high calculation accuracy and solving efficiency and can effectively reflect the failure characteristics of the frame structure,so it can be conveniently used to simulate actual bolt connected composite frame structures.关键词
