Potential for biomass energy utilization and emission reduction of agricultural waste in Henan Province

Abstract
Henan Province is a major agricultural province,with abundant resources of crop straw and livestock manure.Analyzing the spatial distribution of biomass energy utilization potential of agricultural waste in Henan Province and its emission reduction potential from energy utilization can provide references for promoting the energy utilization of regional agricultural waste.Based on the spatial analysis and statistical methods of ArcGIS,this study estimated the biomass energy utilization potential contained in the main crop straw and livestock manure in each county and city of Henan Province in 2023,and analyzed their spatial distribution patterns and the emission reduction potential of pollutants(SO2,NOx)and CO2 when replacing traditional fuels.The results show that the total biomass energy utilization potential of agricultural waste in Henan Province in 2023 was 3.757×107 t of standard coal,of which the biomass energy utilization potential contained in the main crop straw was 1.091×107 t of standard coal,with wheat and corn accounting for 93.924%of the total biomass energy utilization potential of crop straw in the province;the biomass energy utilization potential of livestock manure was 2.666×107 t of standard coal,and poultry manure accounted for 88.335%of the total biomass energy utilization potential of livestock manure.If the biomass energy contained in agricultural waste resources is used to replace traditional fuels,it can reduce the emissions of atmospheric pollutants by approximately 9.514×108 t compared to standard coal,and reduce CO2 emissions by about 10.095×108 t.关键词
