Abstract

[Objective]The study aimed to investigate the effects of combined application of irradiation-polymerized agroforestry water-retai-ning agent(WRA)and fertilizers on water and nutrient retention capacities in soils with different textures,aiming to determine the optimal application ratio.[Method]A laboratory soil column leaching experiment was conducted using three soil textures(sandy soil,loam soil and clay soil)with six WRA application rates(0,0.05%,0.10%,0.25%,0.50%and 0.75%of soil dry weight).The volume of leachate and the leaching losses of nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P),and potassium(K)were measured after five leaching events.[Result]The irradiation-polymerized WRA significantly reduced leachate volume and enhanced soil water retention capacity.Compared with the control(CK2),the SF4 treatment(0.25%WRA)in sandy soil showed the highest reduction in leachate volume(21.4%),followed by SF5(0.50%WRA)in loam(13.2%)and clay(7.8%)soils.The inhibitory effect on water leaching followed the order:sandy soil>loam soil>clay soil.The WRA also reduced nutrient leaching losses and improved soil nutrient retention.In sandy soil,SF4 decreased total N,ammonium-N,nitrate-N,and total K leaching losses by 27.5%,30.3%,40.9%and 31.2%,respectively,with fertilizer use efficiency(FUE)increasing by 27.2%-31.2%.In loam soil,SF3(0.10%WRA)reduced total N,ammonium-N,nitrate-N,total P,and total K leaching losses by 17.5%,12.3%,42.5%,9.1%and 21.4%,respectively,with FUE improving by 8.9%-21.4%.In clay soil,SF2(0.05%WRA)de-creased total N,ammonium-N,nitrate-N,total P,and total K leaching losses by 2.2%,8.0%,37.4%,9.8%and 1.3%,respectively,with FUE increasing by 2.6%-11.4%.The inhibitory effect on nutrient leaching followed the order:sandy soil>loam soil>clay soil.[Conclu-sion]The irradiation-polymerized WRA enhances soil water and nutrient retention through a synergistic mechanism of'physical interception-chemical adsorption'.In sandy and loam soils,the WRA primarily controlls nitrate-N and K leaching,while in clay soil,it mainly regulates ammonium-N and P retention.The recommended WRA application rates are 0.25%-0.50%for sandy soil,0.10%-0.25%for loam soil,and 0.05%-0.10%for clay soil,which can effectively improve soil water and nutrient retention,providing technical support for enhancing fertilizer use efficiency and mitigating agricultural non-point source pollution.
