Expert consensus on the diagnosis and management of retinopathy of the mature newborn(ROM)
摘要
Abstract
To resolve the clinical dilemma in which some full-term neonates show retinal changes resembling retinop-athy of prematurity(ROP)yet fail to meet ROP criteria and only partially fulfill the definition of familial exudative vitreo-retinopathy(FEVR),we formally propose the new entity"Retinopathy of the Mature Newborn(ROM)."This consensus systematically reviews the rationale for introducing ROM,provides its definition and classification,outlines diagnostic path-ways,and details management strategies and recommendations.Adopting the ROM terminology is expected to alleviate psycho-logical stress among families,improve physician-parent communication,and standardize future research and clinical practice.关键词
