The spatiotemporal evolution of new urbanization,rural economy,and ecological environment coordinated development in the Yangtze River economic belt

Abstract
Clarifying the coordinated evolutionary relationship among new urbanization,rural economy,and ecological environment is of great significance for promoting urban-rural integration,achieving sustainable economic and social development,and advancing ecological civilization construction.Taking 110 cities in the Yangtze River economic belt as the research objects and covering the time period from 2011 to 2021,this study constructed a comprehensive evaluation index system for the coupling coordination of the new urbanization-rural economy-ecological environment(U-R-E)system based on the concept of new development.The CRITIC weighting method was employed to calculate the index weights,and the coupling coordination model is used to measure the system's coupling coordination level and classify its types.Meanwhile,kernel density estimation and spatial autocorrelation methods were applied to explore the spatiotemporal evolution of their coordinated development in depth.The research results showed that:(1)The coupling coordination level exhibited an overall increasing trend,with the ranking of coupling coordination levels for different river basin sections from high to low as follows:Lower Reaches of Yangtze River>Middle Reaches of Yangtze River>Upper Reaches of Yangtze River;(2)There were spatial differences in the coupling coordination level,but the differences gradually narrowed;(3)The coupling coordination types shifted from being on the verge of imbalance to barely coordinated,with the urban categories transforming from being dominated by transitional types to predominantly coordinated development types,gradually forming a basic spatial pattern where central cities drove the development of surrounding areas,exhibiting a certain spillover effect;(4)The coupling coordination level had a significant spatial positive correlation,forming a spatial agglomeration pattern dominated by high-high clusters in the northern part of the middle reaches and the northeastern part of the lower reaches,and low-low clusters in the central part of the upper reaches.关键词
