摘要

Abstract

[Objective]This study aims to clarify the variations in water quality between the marine ranching areas and among different aquaculture models,revealing how aquaculture models influence the water quality of marine ranching areas.[Methods]Based on seasonal field investigations in the mussel raft culture area,offshore cage culture area,fish cage culture area,and oyster culture area of two marine ranching areas of Liusha Bay and Zhanjiang Bay,the comprehensive water quality assessment and Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric analysis were employed to compare variations in water quality parameters and water quality index(WQI)scores across the multiple aquaculture models.Multiple regression analysis was used to identify the primary indicators driving variations in WQI results.[Result]The results of four consistent surveys showed that,except for the early rainy season,the pH and dissolved oxygen(DO)concentration in Liusha Bay marine ranches exhibited a tendency to be higher than those in Zhanjiang Bay marine ranches,while the total inorganic nitrogen(TIN)concentration,reactive phosphate(PO43-)concentration,and permanganate index(CODMn)exhibited the opposite trend,but none of these differences were significant(P>0.05).The WQI evaluation result indicated that,the water quality of marine ranching areas in Liusha Bay was superior to that in Zhanjiang Bay,and mussel raft culture areas exhibited the highest water quality among the aquaculture models,predominantly graded as"Excellent"or"Good";offshore cage culture and fish cage culture areas ranked second-best,with"Good"being the dominant grade;oyster culture areas demonstrated significantly poorer water quality(P<0.05).Variations in DO and nutrient concentrations were identified as the core factors significantly influencing WQI variations(P<0.05).[Conclusion]Significant water quality variations exist in different marine ranching areas,potentially influenced by the combined effects of the natural characteristics of the sea areas and the intensity of human activities in the surrounding land areas.While aquaculture(mussel raft,offshore cage,and fish cage cultures)exert measurable impacts on local water,the resultant water quality generally remains within the self-purification capacity of seawater.However,the water of body within the oyster culture area suffers from non-point source pollution originating from upstream rivers;the resulting poor inflow water quality poses a potential risk to aquaculture safety in this zone.
