摘要

Abstract

[Objective]To systematically summarize research progress on fish species diversity in the Beibu Gulf,clarify species composition and conservation status,and provide a scientific basis for regional biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization.[Methods]Relevant literatures and survey data were integrated to compile updated species records,and changes in ichthyofaunal structure and their driving factors were analyzed.[Results]A total of 1 059 fish species have been documented in the Beibu Gulf,representing 40 orders,166 families,and 503 genera.The main drivers of fish diversity changes include climate change,overfishing,coastal development,and marine environmental pollution.Current research still faces several limitations,such as insufficient monitoring coverage,lack of systematic surveys in sensitive habitats,lagging database development,and inconsistencies between Chinese and Vietnamese standards.[Conclusion]Although the Beibu Gulf harbors rich in fish diversity,it is under significant anthropogenic pressure.It is recommended to strengthen monitoring in sensitive habitats,promote data sharing and harmonization of standards between China and Vietnam,accelerate the construction of a regional fish biodiversity database,and establish a standardized molecular identification system supported by morphology to improve species identification and assessment capacity of fishes.
