Technology and Application of Amine Solvent Online Monitoring in Circulating Water

Abstract
In petrochemical plants,amine solution water coolers are widely used in process units that re-quire acid gas removal.However,the early detection of minor leaks has long been a technical challenge for en-terprises.This paper proposes an online monitoring technology for leakage in amine solution water coolers.Based on ion chromatography,an online leakage monitoring system for N-methyldiethanolamine(MDEA)in cir-culating water was developed and validated through field application.Using an amine-specific chromatographic column with methanesulfonic acid as the eluent,the peak area was directly proportional to the MDEA mass con-centration across ranges of 3~50 mg/L and 5~200 mg/L,with a correlation coefficient of 0.999.The detection limit was 1.6 mg/L,and the recovery rate after standard addition was 86.9%to 93.6%.The detection cycle was less than 15 minutes.This system features simple operation,low detection limits,and excellent precision and accuracy.It is suitable for the online monitoring of amine solution leakage in the circulating water of amine desulfurization devices and can meet the online monitoring requirements of amine liquid water cooler leakage in amine desulfurization purification devices.It can provide an effective guarantee for the long-term safe and stable operation of the device.关键词
