Abstract

To reveal the mutual influence between biodiversity and water quality in the Jing River Based on the 2022-2024 monitoring data of water quality and biodiversity in the Jinghe River,this study examined the influence of the river's biodiversity on changes in water quality.The results showed that the aquatic plant communities along the Jinghe River became increasingly abundant,and the water quality of the Jinghe River was gradually improving.From 2022 to 2024,the concentrations of chemical oxygen demand(COD),ammonia nitrogen(NH3-N),total phosphorus(TP),total nitrogen(TN),and chlorophyll-a at the four monitoring sites of the Jinghe River all showed an overall decreasing trend.The biodiversity of the Jinghe River had gradually increased,and an aquatic ecological network supporting ecological functions with biodiversity had been built.This network enhanced the material cycling efficiency of the water body and the pollutant reduction capacity,and drove the continuous improvement of water quality.In terms of ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen,rebounds still occurred at some monitoring sites of the Jinghe River.It was necessary to continue strengthening the supervision of pollution sources,while promoting the coordinated improvement of water quality and biodiversity to achieve the sustainable development of the ecosystem.This study provided a scientific basis for the ecological construction of Beijing's sub-center and other urban water systems.
