Abstract

To address the lack of adaptive carbon sink monitoring methods for roadside greening vegetation,this study systematically evaluates the technical characteristics of direct estimation methods and indirect estimation approaches(optical remote sensing,microwave radar,LiDAR),in conjunction with the characteristics of roadside ecosystems.The application potential and limitations of these methods in roadside scenarios are revealed.Results demonstrate:(1)Direct estimation methods exhibit low monitoring accuracy due to satellite resolution limitations and mixed-pixel effects;(2)Among indirect methods,optical remote sensing is suitable for large-scale dynamic monitoring but suffers from cloud interference;microwave radar shows superior cloud penetration capability yet faces high technical costs and interpretation complexity;LiDAR's application scale is constrained by operational costs.A multi-source collaborative monitoring framework is consequently proposed:optical remote sensing dominates large-scale monitoring,UAV-mounted LiDAR enhances 3D parameter acquisition in key road sections,while modeling integrates mechanistic and empirical methods to optimize local adaptability.This framework provides a technical pathway reference for carbon sink monitoring in roadside greening ecosystems.
