Abstract
To enhance the coverage of wireless sensor networks while minimizing energy consumption,a wireless sensor network coverage optimization approach employing an enhanced whale optimization algorithm is introduced.Initially,a three-layered model for a wireless sensor network is developed based on the LEACH protocol,and a multi-objective coverage optimization strategy is proposed.Subsequently,improvements are made to the traditional whale optimization algorithm by incorporating a nonlinear decreasing convergence factor and opti-mal local jitter.These enhancements aim to mitigate premature convergence and prevent the algorithm from getting trapped in local optima.A series of comparative experiments are conducted to assess the performance of the proposed algorithm against six other algorithms.The re-sults of these experiments indicate that the coverage achieved by the proposed algorithm is 98.318%and 99.101%when the number of sensor nodes(N)is 30 and 64,respectively.Furthermore,under the same node count,the proposed algorithm exhibits a higher number of surviving nodes and greater remaining energy per round compared to the alternative algorithms.These findings affirm the effectiveness of the proposed method in optimizing wireless sensor network coverage and energy consumption.关键词
