摘要

Abstract

The operation overvoltage generated by circuit breaker when switching capacitors is easy to cause overvoltage accidents in the electric power system.Through the analysis of a main transformer trip-ping accident at a certain substation,it can be concludes that the main cause of this accident is the oper-ation overvoltage generated by 35 kV vacuum circuit breaker when switching shunt capacitors,which re-sulting in insulation breakdown within the switchgear and subsequently leading to three-phase grounding short circuit.Based on this,the author utilize RC snubber to suppress the operation overvoltage generated by circuit breaker when switching capacitors,and verified the effectiveness of this suppression measure through on-site test.The accident analysis and test results concluded thatthe protection scheme with the installation of a RC snubber can effectively suppress the switching overvoltage generated by the circuit breaker switching capacitors in the substation,as proven by on-site comparative testing;For substations where similar accidents have occurred,it is recommended to install RC snubber to reduce the amplitude and frequency of operational overvoltage,in order to control its impact range and degree of damage.
