中国科幻文学外译机制探析
The Mechanism of Translating Chinese Science Fiction into English:With Folding Beijing as a Case

Abstract
As a significant component of the"Chinese Culture Going Global"initiative,the translation of Chinese science fic-tion(sci-fi)deserves greater scholarly attention.Adopting a sociological lens,this study conceptualizes the translation of Chi-nese sci-fi as a complex social activity and situates it within broader sociocultural contexts.Through the lens of Bourdieu's theory of practice,this paper analyzes the relevant fields surrounding the award-winning story Folding Beijing,the habitus of the translator,and the social,economic,cultural,and symbolic capital held by key actors—including the author,patrons,and translators—as well as non-human actors such as publishing institutions.Based on this analysis,the study tentatively proposes a translation mechanism for Chinese sci-fi literature,which can be summarized as"capital-driven selection of the source text—translator selection guided by capital and habitus—capital-informed selection of the publishing institution".It is hoped that this paper will provide a valuable framework and reference for future translations in this field.关键词
