Research progress on effects of algae and their derivatives on gut microbiota of farmed animals
摘要
Abstract
Algae and their derivatives exhibit functional characteristics similar to those of antibiotics in farming practices.Specifically,they not only play a role in preventing and ameliorating diseases in farmed animals,but also contribute to promoting animal growth.The aim was to summarize algae and their derivatives that exert positive effects on animal health.Based on existing research evidence,algae and their derivatives,functioning as natural prebiotics,possess the ability to modulate the structure and composition of the gut flora in diverse farmed animals.They enhance animal health and growth performance by promoting the proliferation of beneficial bacteria and suppressing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria.These characteristics of algae and their derivatives offers an innovative solution for replacing antibiotics in sustainable aquaculture,poultry,livestock,which is expected to propel the cultured industry toward a greener,more efficient,and sustainable direction.关键词
