Abstract

In response to the complex seismic response analysis of tuned mass damper(TMD)structures considering soil-structure interaction(SSI),this paper proposed a concise closed-form solutions for response spectral moments and variance,and explored the seismic response characteristics of structures considering SSI.First,seismic equations for TMD structures with SSI were established using D'Alembert's principle,and a general equation based on real modal decomposition was developed by finite element dynamic techniques.Next,explicit solutions for 0-,1-,and 2-order spectral moments of structural displacement,TMD displacement,and foundation translational and rotational displacements under Duxiuli seismic excitation model were derived using power spectral density quadratic decomposition.Finally,numerical examples validated the method and analyzed the seismic response of TMD structures considering SSI.Results indicate that failure probability(based on inter-story displacement)and top-story displacement increase with SSI effects,especially for soft soils,while SSI has minimal impacts on optimal parameters of TMD.Compared with the traditional method,the proposed method is simpler and more accurate,and can be applied to practical engineering more efficiently.
