Soil Organic Carbon Storages and Influencing Factors in Pinus massoniana Plantations of Different Stand Ages in Southern Guangxi

Abstract
In ordert to provide scientific basis for soil carbon sequestration management and multi-objective sustainable management of Pinus massoniana plantation,taking P.massoniana plantations of different stand ag-es(7-year-old,19-year-old,24-year-old,33-year-old,44-year-old and 66-year-old)in Guangxi state-owned Paiyangshan forest farm as research objects,distribution characteristics and influencing factors of soil or-ganic carbon content and carbon storage were analyzed.Results showed that there were significant differences in soil organic carbon content and carbon storage among P.massoniana plantations of different stand ages.Soil organic carbon content and carbon storage exhibited"W"shaped change trends with increase of stand age.In 0-40 cm soil layer,order of soil organic carbon content was 24-year-old(22.33 g/kg)>44-year-old(20.29 g/kg)>7-year-old(18.91 g/kg)>19-year-old(17.22 g/kg)>66-year-old(15.99 g/kg)>33-year-old(13.42 g/kg).Order of soil carbon storage was 24-year-old(128.12 t/hm2)>44-year-old(114.29 t/hm2)>7-year-old(105.81 t/hm2)>66-year-old(95.65 t/hm2)>19-year-old(88.80 t/hm2)>33-year-old(71.10 t/hm2).Soil organic carbon contents and carbon storages in 0-20 cm soil layers were significantly higher than those in 20-40 cm soil layers in P.massoniana plantations of different stand ages.Soil organic carbon content and carbon storage had significant positive correlations with soil total phosphorus content and extremely significant positive correlations with con-tents of soil total nitrogen,hydrolyzable nitrogen and available phosphorus as well as carbon content of litters.Soil organic carbon content had significant negative correlations with soil bulk density and pH.In silvicultural management,application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers could promote growth and carbon accumulation of P.massoniana plantation.关键词
