Effects of sowing and fertilization modes on soil physical properties,biological characteristics,and yield of maize

Abstract
In order to explore the impact of sowing and fertilization modes on soil physical properties,biological characteristics,and yield of maize,a split-plot experiment was conducted.The main plots were assigned to wheat season with three sowing modes of conventional sowing(C),no tillage furrow sowing mode(G),and simplified sowing mode(N),while the subplots were in maize season with two fertilization methods of conventional fertilization in way(T)and layered fertilization way(L).The soil physical properties,the content of microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen,soil enzyme activity,dry matter accumulation,and maize yield were measured at maturity-stage.The results showed that G treatment significantly increased the plow layer thickness by 10.41%and reduced the compactness by 6.16%compared with C treatment,and significantly increased the two-year average content of soil microbial carbon and nitrogen by 17.88%and 24.31%,respectively.T treatment reduced soil bulk density by 10.16%in 0-20 cm soil layer compared with L treatment,increased the average weight diameter of soil aggregates by 9.01%,and enhanced enzyme activity.In the first year,the coupling of wheat conventional sowing and maize layered fertilization showed the best performance in microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen,enzyme activity,and yield related indicators.In the second year,the soil bulk density and compactness at soil depths of 0-20 cm and 0-35 cm were found to be the lowest in the combination of wheat no-tillage furrow sowing and corn layered fertilization treatment,while the proportion of>5 mm aggregates,enzyme activity,dry matter accumulation,and yield were the highest in the treatment of no-tillage furrow sowing of wheat and layered fertilization of maize.In summary,the no-tillage furrow sowing of wheat coupled with layered fertilization in the corn season can effectively improve soil structure,enhance soil nutrient supply capacity,and increase crop yield.关键词
