外源褪黑素及施用方式对玉米前期生长发育及产量的影响
Effects of exogenous melatonin and application methods on seedling growth and development and yield of maize(Zea mays L.)

Abstract
To determine the impact of exogenous melatonin application at the seedling stage on the growth,development,and yield of densely planted maize,as well as to identify the optimal application method and concentration,this study conducted a concentration screening experiment under rainout shelter conditions and a field validation trial.(1)Under rainout shelter conditions,three application methods for five melatonin concentrations(0,50,100,200,and 500 μmol/L)were performed on two maize cultivars Zhengdan 958(ZD)and Xianyu 335(XY),including foliar spray(LF),root irrigation(RI),and combined foliar spray and root irrigation(LF+RI).The results showed that exogenous melatonin application at the seedling stage coordinatedly promoted the above-and below-ground growth.Under all three application methods,the above-and below-ground traits of both cultivars increased as melatonin concentration rises up to 200 μmol/L.Under the MT200 treatment,single-plant leaf area,above-ground dry weight,and root dry weight increased by 39.2%-127.7%,159.7%-131.8%,and 12.1%-353.0%,respectively,compared with that of the control without melatonin.Net photosynthetic rate(Pn)increased by 30.9%-47.5%,while CAT and POD enzyme activities rosed by 30.9%-47.5%and 42.6%-440.9%,respectively.MDA content decreased by 18.1%-59.0%.All the differences under MT200 treatment were statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)For the field trial,eight high-yielding maize cultivars from recent years were treated with exogenous melatonin by root irrigation(RI)or foliar spray(LF)at a concentration of 200 μmol/L at the three-leaf-one-heart stage(V3).The field results demonstrated that melatonin application at the seedling stage significantly increased kernel number per ear,1000-kernel weight,and yield.The average yield of the eight summer maize cultivars increased by 16.4%and 30.4%under LF and RI treatments,respectively.The root irrigation showed more effective impact on yield than foliar spray.These findings provide theoretical support for the promotive effects of melatonin on maize seedling growth and lay a foundation for its practical application in high-density planting systems.关键词
