Abstract
Due to terrain constraints,the spillway of the Dongyong Reservoir has a planar bend with a radius of 47.5 meters and a turning angle of 14.45°.The bend causes uneven flow distribution and suboptimal energy dissipation.Model tests were conducted to verify and optimize the design,aiming to improve the flow pattern in the bend.The results show that installing stepped transverse superelevation on the bottom of the bend does not fully resolve flow non-uniformity.At high discharge rates,the main flow oscillates repeatedly within the chute,causing water splashes over the sidewalls.Adding a guide wall in the bend effectively achieves flow rectification and energy dissipation.After exiting the bend,the flow becomes more uniform,and the overall discharge is continuous.These findings provide a scientific basis for the design and operational management of similar projects.关键词
