Abstract

Based on monthly precipitation data from NOAA meteorological stations in the Haihe River Basin from 2000 to 2020,the applicability of three reanalysis datasets—ERA5,R-2,and CRU—was evaluated.The time series variations,root mean square error,correlation coefficients,and spatial distribution of precipitation were compared between NOAA precipitation data and the reanalysis datasets.The results show that all three reanalysis datasets can reflect the variation trends of monthly precipitation in the basin.Among them,ERA5 demonstrates the best applicability,with high resolution,a long time series,and minimal bias.Its daily precipitation data can be used for the reproduction of the Haihe River"23·7"rainstorm.The spatial distribution of precipitation in June-August from CRU and ERA5 reflects the characteristic of higher precipitation in the plains compared to mountainous areas.Precipitation reanalysis data can be applied to hydrological and water resource-related studies in the Haihe River Basin.
