Abstract

The rational determination of the soil geochemical anomaly threshold serves as the key bridge connecting soil geochemical data with exploration decisions(such as anomaly verification and engineering validation),and also marks the starting point for quantifying geological interpretation.To better reflect the soil geochemical anomaly characteristics in the Qixingshan survey area of Binyang County,Guangxi,this paper systematically compared the applicability of the iterative method,EDA method,85%cumulative frequency method,and concentration-area fractal method in calculating the anomaly thresholds for various elements.The results indicate that the 85%cumulative frequency method,which fully utilizes all data information and does not rely on specific data distributions,can more accurately reflect anomalous characteristics and is suitable for delineating element anomalies in this region.Meanwhile,the concentration-area fractal method can serve as a supplementary approach for analyzing the fractal characteristics of element spatial distribution.The elements Pb,Ag,and Sb exhibit highly significant anomalies with strong intensity and low denudation,representing the primary target mineral species at the surface in the study area.The delineated HT2 integrated anomaly exhibits a large scale and complex element association,closely coinciding with the north-south trending fractures.There is no apparent relationship between the HT2 integrated anomaly and the strata or lithology.The anomaly verification indicates that the HT2 integrated anomaly is caused by ore bodies or mineralized bodies hosted within the north-south trending fractures and their secondary fractures.The research results provide a basis for optimizing methods in soil geochemical anomaly evaluation and prospecting prediction in the Zhenlongshan area.
