Abstract

Drilling wastewater produced during the exploitation of certain gas fields contains substantial amounts of mineral oil,macromolecular compounds,water and clay,characterized by its complex composition and high stability.If the drilling wastewater is discharged untreated,it has a severe detrimental impact on the surrounding ecological environment of the well site.Focusing on the oil-laden drilling wastewater from the Yanchang Gas Field,the reduction,treatment and reuse of which were studied.The results show that after treatment,the oil recovery rate and the reduction rate of the oil-laden drilling wastewater reach 83.17%and 85.00%,respectively.The intermediate water separated from the mixture,after chemical oxidation(pH=4,FeSO4 adding amount 120 mg/L,stirring speed 180 r/min,stirring time 20 min,hydrogen peroxide adding amount 0.3%,oxidation time 30 min)and coagulation treatment(pH=8,APAM with a relative molecular mass of 12 × 106 and adding amount 11 mg/L,PAC adding amount 100 mg/L,stirring speed 160 r/min,stirring time 15 min),achieves a supernatant transparency of 99%.Field tests,following the laboratory procedures,demonstrate a minimum reduction rate of 80.00%and a minimum oil recovery rate of 76.87%.After treatment,no detectable levels of chromium,cadmium,nickel,zinc,arsenic,copper,lead,mercury or their compounds are present in the water.The treated water,when reconstitutes as fracturing fluid,meets all required performance standards.
