Controllable preparation and catalytic performance of NiPd/Al2O3 bimetallic catalyst for biphenyl hydrogenation

Abstract
A series of NiPd/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation and impregnation methods,and their effects on the catalytic biphenyl hydrogenation performance were investigated.The conformational relationships of the catalysts were analyzed by N2 adsorption and desorption curves,SEM,TEM,XRD,XPS and ICP,which revealed the effects of different preparation methods on the microstructure,surface interface properties and catalytic performance of the catalysts.The results show that co-precipitation method realizes the controllable preparation of NiPd/Al2O3-cp two-dimensional layered nanosheet structure,and this catalyst has high porosity and specific surface area,the metal nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed on the surface of the carrier,and there are electronic interactions between Ni and Pd.The catalyst performance evaluation reflects the superior catalytic activity of NiPd/Al2O3-cp.The effect of process conditions on the hydrogenation reaction of biphenyl was also investigated.It is found that this catalyst can completely convert biphenyl at 170 ℃,and the selectivity of the target product bicyclohexane reaches 99.9%.The catalyst can maintain good hydrotreating activity after 5 cycles.Meanwhile,the intermediate products of biphenyl hydrogenation process were detected and analyzed,and the possible pathway of biphenyl hydrogenation reaction was deduced.关键词
