A Study on Wage Determination Mechanism from the Perspective of Risk:Empirical Evidence from Machine Learning

Abstract
Understanding the mechanisms behind wage formation is essential for ensuring reasonable growth in labor compensation dur-ing primary distribution and for advancing the goal of common prosperity.This study positions risk as a key determinant of wages and investigates the significant impact of corporate risk through both theoretical modeling and empirical analysis.The findings are threefold:(1)Both theoretical and empirical evidence demonstrate that multidimensional fluctuations in corporate output significantly influence wages.Specifically,variance and kurtosis risks contribute to a positive risk premium,while skewness risk tends to reduce expected wa-ges.(2)Heterogeneity analysis reveals that the relative bargaining power between firms and employees plays a crucial role in shaping the risk premium.(3)Further analysis shows that by offering risk premiums,firms gain flexibility in wage adjustments.The resulting reduction in wage rigidity enables firms to lower financial leverage,increase R&D investment,and enhance production efficiency.关键词
