湖北土家族丧葬方言词与民俗文化考察
Funeral-related Dialect Vocabulary and Folk Culture of the Tujia Ethnic Group in Hubei

Abstract
As a vital carrier of folk culture,dialects carry the cognitive mode and cultural logic of certain ethnic groups.Focus-ing on the funeral-related dialect terms of the Tujia ethnic group in Hubei Province,this study establishes a corpus of 89 such terms through field investigation and documentary research.The corpus is categorized into four groups:pre-funeral preparations,funeral rites,burial ceremonies,and sacrificial rituals.Employing cognitive linguistics and ritual theory,the paper argues that the Tujia fu-neral customs in Hubei not only reflect a philosophical outlook centered on"the immortality of the soul and the naturalness of life and death"but also reinforce filial piety ethics and ethnic identity through rituals such as"Tiaosang"(A traditional funeral dance performed by the Tujia people to honor the deceased.)and"Saye'erhe"(A rhythmic refrain repeatedly chanted during the Tiaosang dance,which has also become a synonym for the ritual itself.).Variations in the funeral vocabulary reveal a triple-layered cultural sedimentation,stemming from the ancient Chu shamanistic cultural base,integration with immigrant cultures during the Ming and Qing dynasties,and multi-ethnic interactions.Finally,the study proposes suggestions for the living transmission of dialect and folk culture,aiming to offer new perspectives for research on ethnic minority cultures.关键词
