从燕京名胜到人民公园
From a Scenic Spot to the People's Park:The Historical Evolution of Taoranting Park in Beijing
摘要
Abstract
Taoran Pavilion, located in the southern suburbs of Beijing, has been a renowned scenic spot and an important cultural site since the Qing dynasty(1644-1911).It was renovated following the Soviet concept of culture and leisure parks in 1952,becoming one of the earliest modern urban parks in the People's Republic of China. It then experienced several subsequent constructions, which have shaped its current landscape.Drawing on historical documents and city planning records, this article traces the historical evolution of the Taoranting Park from a scenic spot to the people's park.It indicates that the park's historical evolution is intrinsically linked to the development of Bei-jing's social institutions and urban spatial organi-sation,reflecting the transformation of urban public spaces across cultural and civic-life dimensions.Meanwhile, the park exemplifies a paradigm which integrated modern park functionality with the forms of classical Chinese gardens, and demonstrates pi-oneering exploration of nationality in landscape design and planning.关键词
