晚清南昌玉芝园园林复原考证与营造特色研究
Hypothetical Reconstruction and Scenic Characteristics of the Late-Qing Dynasty Yuzhi Garden in Nanchang,Jiangxi Province

Abstract
Yuzhi Garden is a late-Qing dynasty garden estate built by the renowned literatus Xu Zhenyi(1827-1899)between 1869 and 1873 upon retiring to his hometown.As one of the most famous private gardens in Jiangxi of its era,Yuzhi Garden exemplifies the literati's conscious rejection of the formalism and mastery in local garden practices while embracing the garden design philosophy of'creating artificial nature'and'pursuing simplicity and rusticity' during the late phase of traditional Chinese gardens.Unfortunately,this garden was destructed in the 1970s.This article scrutinises and reconstructs Yuzhi Garden's layout during its floruit period based on archival documents,historical drawings,on-site investigations,and 3D imagery of the historic site.It further analyses the scenic char-acteristics of the garden,revealing its inheritance of literati garden design philosophy and principles while demonstrating distinct regional characteris-tics and garden traditions in Jiangxi Province,as well as the personal tastes of the garden owner.This study contributes to the history of Gan-style gar-dens and provides references for the construction of contemporary vernacular landscapes.关键词
