Abstract
Objective To explore the impact of family myopia history on the onset of myopia among primary school students in Weifang city,providing a scientific basis for the effective formulation of strategies for preventing and in-tervening in childhood and adolescent myopia.Methods It was a cross-sectional study.Utilizing the survey data of pri-mary school students'myopia status in Weifang City in 2022,7 724 primary school students were selected as the research subjects.The Propensity Score Matching(PSM)method was used to match students with and without a family history of myopia.Univariate chi-square tests and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were employed to study the impact of fam-ily myopia history on the onset of myopia in primary school students.Results The incidence of myopia among primary school students in Weifang city was 58.48%,with a rate of 54.68%among students with a family history of myopia.After PSM matching,2 810 pairs of students with and without a family history of myopia were matched,totaling 5 620 cases.Lo-gistic regression analysis results showed that being female(P<0.001,OR=1.46),being frequently reminded by teachers to maintain proper reading and writing posture(P=0.004,OR=1.35),and having a family history of myopia(P<0.001,OR=1.48)were risk factors for the onset of myopia in primary school students.Engaging in eye exercises twice daily at school(P=0.001,OR=0.74)was an influential factor for the occurrence of myopia symptoms.Conclusions Primary school students with a family history of myopia have a higher risk of developing myopia than those without such a history,indicating a need for enhanced preventive measures for students with a family history of myopia.关键词
