Abstract

M-tyrosine(m-Tyr)is a naturally occurring non-protein amino acid with significant herbicidal activity.In this paper,the conjugation effect of m-Tyr on seed germination and seedling growth of three important crops(corn Zea mays,soybean Glycine max,and wheat Triticum aestivum)was explored through the soil spray test system.Meanwhile,corn,a crop with strong resistance to m-Tyr,was used for mixed sowing with Digitaria sanguinalis,to explore the weeding value of m-Tyr in practical applications.The results showed that there were significant differences in the resistance of the tested plants to m-Tyr,and the resistance order was:corn>soybean>wheat.Compared with the clear water control(CK),after 30 mmol·L-1 m-Tyr soil spray treatment of well-mixed and sown corn and Digitaria sanguinalis,the seed germination rates of Digitaria sanguinalis,and corn decreased by 89.43%and 14.26%respectively,and the seedling biomass decreased by 89.14%and 1.59%respectively,confirming its potential for selective weed control in cornfield applications.This study clarified the allelic effect phenotype and dose-effect characteristics of m-Tyr on plant growth,providing a theoretical basis for the research on the physiological functions of m-Tyr and its application in weed control.
